UNITAID and WHO Review Emerging Landscape for HIV Self-Testing

UNITAID and WHO today release a Landscape report that gives projections of the demand for and supply of HIV rapid diagnostic tests for self-testing and summarizes the emerging market landscape for this approach.

WHO launches new guidelines on HIV testing services

Globally only 51% of people living with HIV know of their status. New "Consolidated guidelines for HIV testing services" launched by WHO cover new and existing recommendations centered on lay provider delivered HIV testing services, correct test results and quality of HIV testing, and strategic decision making on when and how to focus HIV testing services.
WHO and partners obtain US$23 million UNITAID grant to catalyse access to HIV self-testing in Africa

A team of partners, including WHO, received US$23 million investment from UNITAID to develop and improve access to HIV self-testing services in three high-burden African countries over the next two years.
This site is coordinated with input from global public health stakeholders in order to provide a clearinghouse of information on HIV self-testing (HIVST) to further foster collaboration. Information that is available includes: resources, research, experiences and lessons learned in implementing HIV self-testing as a public health approach.
